Detroit Red Wings fans picked up national attention Tuesday when the Little Caesars Arena crowd sang the Canadian national anthem after the mic went out.

Longtime Red Wings anthem singer Karen Newman was performing before the game against the Montreal Canadiens when the glitch occurred.

The NHL Twitter account shared the video of the arena singing “O Canada” at full volume before the start of the game.

The mic went out, but the @DetroitRedWings crowd sang the Canadian national anthem as loud as they could.

Social media reacted positively to the Red Wings fans’ show of support, with one user calling the move a “class act.”

How great is that. I am a Canadian and a 71 year old life long Wings fan. I couldn’t be prouder of our Red Wing fans for doing this and so appreciative as a Canadian to have Americans sing our national anthem with such feeling. Well done and thank you.

Every Wings fan knows O’ Canada 🇨🇦… you can’t grow up around here and not know it. I’m proud of our fans but at the same time I expected nothing less

This is why Hockey fans are the best! Whether you’re neighbors to the North or neighbors to the South, we unite for a great sport… until the puck drops! Lol
