The film received mixed reviews from film critics, but the audience is loving the film as is clear from its box office collection. While a lot of controversy surrounded the film before the release of the film, it is being applauded for its CGI and storytelling.
Apart from the VFX of the film, Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Rathod is the highlight of Tanhaji: The Unsung Store. IndiaToday.in’s Jyoti Kanyal write, “In his anti-hero avatar, Saif yet again proves his versatility. The character is evil and blatantly unpleasant, but it also hides several layers in it. While there are several historical loopholes in this character, and his mannerisms which appear to have been influenced by Afghani culture more than Mughal, Saif Ali Khan cannot be deprived of the praise he deserves in choosing to portray such a complex character. The actor’s expressions and acting talent will make you detest Udaybhan Singh for life.”
Sharad Kelkar as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is extremely impressive. He personified the great Maratha king on the big screen.
Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hit screens on January 10. It completed one week at the box office on Thursday.
